Global Money Week (GMW) is an annual global awareness campaign on the benefits of ensuring that young people are financially aware and are gradually acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary to make significant financial decisions and ultimately achieve financial well-being.
The primary goal of this global awareness campaign is to ensure that young people have access to quality financial education and learn about money matters, which helps them make smart financial decisions that can improve their future financial resilience.
Children and young people must develop sound financial knowledge and behaviours from a young age to know how to manage their finances throughout their lives.
Governments and other stakeholders are encouraged “to develop financial literacy in young people from the earliest possible age through channels that are appropriate to the age of the learners.
GMW is held every year in March and is organized by the OECD International Network on Financial Education (OECD/INFE).
